A color change wrap is a full-body vinyl install: every painted exterior panel covered in cast film, edges wrapped out of sight, so the car reads factory-built in a color it never left the plant in. What a full color change includes.

The difference between a wrap that turns heads and a wrap that lifts at the gas station is everything that happens before film touches paint.

  • Paint inspection first. Film belongs on healthy factory paint. If your clear coat is failing or a panel has been resprayed, you hear it at the inspection, not after removal.
  • Hardware off, not taped around. Mirrors, handles, badges and trim come off the car wherever the design allows, so film wraps the edge instead of stopping at it.
  • Plotted before cut. Your exact body gets mapped and the layout checked against it digitally, so you see the plan before the roll is touched.
  • Install and heat-set. 3 to 5 days inside, in a bay reserved for your build. Corners and edges get heat-sealed so the Florida summer has nothing to lift.
  • Optional ceramic seal. A ceramic coat laid over the finished film: deeper look, easier washes. Add-on only, always on top of a wrap.
  • Handoff. You leave with the care card for your exact film and a car you will circle twice before driving.

Color-shift and iridescent films are the current kings: nothing else on the road photographs like them. These are codes we actually plot, not a brochure list.

Maker ratings on these lines run 8 to 12 years; under year-round Florida sun, plan on 5 to 7 outdoors with proper care, longer garaged. Before any roll is ordered you approve a physical swatch held on your own panel in daylight: screens lie about metallic, pearl and shift, so we never order from a screen.

Why color change is a Naples move.

Half the cars in any Naples parking row are white or silver: heat does that to a market. A color change is the shortest route out of that lineup, and the film pulls double duty here: Gulf salt air and a UV index that works all year land on the vinyl, not on your clear coat.

Can you match a color from a photo or another car?

Bring the reference. Between the 3M, Avery Dennison, TeckWrap, KPMF, Hexis and Oracal catalogs there are hundreds of codes, and there is almost always one within a shade of what you saw. We order the physical swatch, hold it on your panel in daylight, and you decide. If the exact shade truly does not exist on a roll, printed film is the custom route: that conversation happens at the consult.

Gloss, satin or matte: which one for Florida?

All three are cast films built for outdoor life, so pick with your eyes, not your fears. Gloss hits hardest in full sun and reads closest to paint. Satin is the studio favorite on wide-body cars: it holds shape in the light without glare. Matte hides minor road rash best but asks for matte-safe care. None of them is a wrong answer here.

Does a full color change include the door jambs?

Standard scope is every exterior painted panel, with edges wrapped so open doors show clean lines and jambs left factory. Wrapping jambs means another level of disassembly: worth it on a show build or a dramatic color flip, skippable on a daily. We scope it honestly at the consult.

3M, Avery Dennison or KPMF: how do you choose?

By finish, not brand loyalty. Avery solids carry the longest maker ratings of the lines we install. 3M owns several shifts and textures nobody else makes. KPMF rolls iridescents that stop traffic. You pick the color you cannot stop thinking about: we pick the roll that installs and lasts best in that finish.
